BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman shoppers who stop into Rulli Brothers will be greeted with an updated art display.

The display has been in the grocery store for the past five years and showcases artwork that comes from 5th and 6th grade students at Center Intermediate School.

The art work can be seen in a special area set aside near the entrance of the store. Each piece of art depicts an item that Rulli shoppers may be familiar with - and that's the Rulli Brothers Pasta Sauce jar.

"It's a great way for the kids to develop a sense of pride, and to build their confidence," said BCIS art teacher Kate Sears. "Art can be so subjective, but seeing their work displayed in a busy store like Rulli Brothers, is a big boost!"

Sears said she always used the pasta jars as a part of her lesson on  sketching. Then, several years ago approached store owner Michael Rulli and asked to display some of the student's best sketches.

Since then, Sears said, "dozens of students' sketches have greeted Rulli Customers at the door."
