Detective: disagreement dating back to the 70s leads to Campbell shooting

CAMPBELL, Ohio - Campbell police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday evening.
Police were called to a home on the 100 block of Gordon Avenue around 6 p.m.
According to detectives the victim, 70-year-old Jerome Pruitt, was shot twice, once in the torso and once in the arm in the front yard of the home.
Detectives have named a suspect, 64-year-old John Ellis of Youngstown.
Ellis was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals on counts of felonious assault and having weapons under a disability.
Police say neither Pruitt nor Ellis lived at the home that the shooting took place.
Detectives say the shooting stems from a disagreement between the two reaching back to the 1970s, but it's unclear what about.
Pruitt was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.
Doctors told officers that he should make a full recovery.
The incident remains under investigation.
