By a very slim margin, Mahoning County voted yes on a sales and use tax Tuesday evening.

The county engineer’s office sought a one-quarter percent sales and use tax for road repair and maintenance in the county for the next five years.

Residents voted in favor of the engineer’s office by a margin of 52% to 48% voters who said no. The decision was spread by a little less than 2,000 votes, with all precincts reporting.
