NILES, Ohio - A man has been arrested on Saturday following a police chase in Niles.

Police say that they had received calls regarding Scott Mosier (36) allegedly attempting to steal packages from postal carriers.

According to police, a postal carrier claimed to be approached by Mosier who was allegedly attempting to get in the rear of the mail truck, but left upon request.

Police say Mosier was then seen allegedly trying to sneak into the back of an Amazon delivery truck in the same area, but was allegedly thrown out by the driver.

Police say Mosier was allegedly driving very slowly in order to look inside of people's vehicles and that he was allegedly carrying a washing machine in the back of his truck.

Once police conducted a traffic stop with the suspected vehicle and made contact with Mosier, he had fled the traffic stop and a chase ensued.

Mosier is charged with Obstructing Official Business and Failure to Comply - Operating a Motor Vehicle to Flee.
