Driver charged with OVI following crash in Downtown Hubbard

HUBBARD, Ohio - A driver involved in a crash in Dowtown Hubbard early Wednesday morning has been charged with OVI.
According to Hubbard Police, Michael Schultz was charged with OVI after atraffic accident that shut down part of North Main Street in the city of Hubbard.
Dispatchers were told that a car crashed into a utility pole, bringing down power lines near Stevens Optical shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
A witness says the driver of the car tried to flee the area in another car but was stopped by police.
As of 5 a.m., wires were still blocking the road, closing North Main from Walnut Street to the middle of town.
Authorities say they are not able to remove the wrecked vehicle until the wires are removed.
No serious injuries have been reported.
Crews from the Hubbard Electric Department restored power in the area shortly before 5:30 am.
