YSU has fewest positive COVID-19 cases since October

For the first time since mid-October, less than 20 Youngstown State students and faculty tested positive for COVID-19.
Only 17 people from the university returned positive results, according to the school's COVID-19 Dashboard. Four of those people were employees and 13 were students. Only two of those students lived in on-campus housing facilities.
The last time that fewer than 20 people tested positive at the school was the week of October 17 through 23, 2021.
YSU canceled classes on Friday last week, so no students were face to face with instructors and other employees that day.
This is the third week in a row that the school has seen a decrease in campus-wide positive cases. YSU's COVID-19 Dashboard shows that 48 people at the university tested positive last week.
Students were required to take a COVID-19 test before coming back to school for the spring semester, and 158 students and employees returned positive results upon their return in early January.
