Multiple flu shot clinics to be held throughout Mahoning County
MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - Mahoning County Public Health (MCPH) will be holding various flu shot clinics throughout Mahoning County all throughout flu season.
The CDC recommends that everyone six months old or older should get a flu shot every year, including people at high risk of developing flu-related complications including the following:
- Children aged six months to five years old
- Adults aged 50 years old and older
- Pregnant women and women up to two weeks postpartum
- Residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
- Those with chronic medical conditions such as asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, blood disorders, diabetes, obesity, kidney, liver or endocrine disorders, weakened immune systems due to medications or diseases such as cancer, HIV or AIDS.
No appointment is necessary for any of these clinics, but guests must bring their insurance cards, drivers license and Medicaid or Medicare cards so the cost of the vaccine can be billed. Most private insurances are accepted.
MCPH will have limited opportunities for children who are uninsured or underinsured to receive their vaccines free of charge.

- Wednesday, September 28: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Park Mall Center Court (7401, Market St. Youngstown)
- Thursday, September 29: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mahoning County Public Health (50 Westchester Dr. Youngstown)
- Tuesday, October 4: noon to 2:00 p.m. at Berlin Township Building Weidemier House (15823 Akron-Canfield Rd. Berlin Center)
- Wednesday, October 5: 9:00 a.m. to noon at Boardman United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (6809 Market St. Youngstown)
- Wednesday, October 5: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Canfield United Methodist Church (27 South Broad St. Canfield)
- Thursday, October 6: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mahoning County Public Health
- Thursday, October 13: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mahoning County Public Health
- Thursday, October 13: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Beaver Township Woodworth Park (225 Warren Ave. Poland)
- Monday, October 17: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Austintown Senior Center (112 Westchester Dr. Youngstown)
