Father of three has vehicle stolen with three children inside; man charged

In the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 5, a father returning home from a trip stopped by a local convenience store on Mahoning Avenue to pick up a few items and didn't want to wake his three children sleeping inside his van.
When the father came back out of the store, only to find his van was gone - along with his three children - ages 10, 8 and 4.
The father told police another adult passenger was waiting just outside the van and that the children were never left unattended, but that someone jumped into the driver's seat and took the van right in front of them.
Youngstown City Police received a 911 call of kidnapping from the father after 2 am Saturday night.
The father advised police that his white Ford van had a tracking device, and he advised police the van was showing in the 300 block of Argo Street in the city.
Police diverted to the street location and found an adult male walking down Argo Street with three children.
According to the police report, Jimenez allegedly told the children when he saw the police approaching to say that a black man had taken them.
Police found 23-year-old Abraham Jimenez-Zenquiz, with the three children. Jimenez was arrested and charged with abduction and motor vehicle theft and charged on November 7.
Jimenez-Zenquiz had a preliminary hearing on Nov. 7, and will be back in court for a second preliminary hearign on November 15 at 9:30 a, in Judge DiSalvo's courtroom.
The father arrived at the scene and was reunited with his children. The father said the store was close to his house and was only inside for a few minutes.
