Real estate transactions resume in Columbiana County after system outage

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - Real estate transactions in Columbiana County have resumed after a system outage resulting from a cyberattack and necessary equipment replacements.
Columbiana County Recorder, James Armeni explained that around the holiday season, COTT Systems in Columbus was the victim of a cyberattack causing the system to shut down in all of its served areas including Columbiana County.
Armeni says the system came back up last week, but went down again shortly after due to equipment replacements.
Armeni confirmed with 21 News that as of 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, the system is back up and running and real estate transactions can resume as normal.
Columbiana is one of seven counties in Ohio who were affected by this outage and Ohio is one of 22 states nationwide who expereinced outages related to this.
