Suspect of arson incident at industrial building in Champion indicted

The charge stems from an incident that occurred in October of 2022, when Wheatcroft and three other suspects allegedly set fire to an abandoned industrial building in Champion Township.

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - One of four suspects in an arson incident in Champion in October of 2022 has been indicted on Wednesday.

According to the indictment, 21-year-old Lucas Wheatcroft was indicted on one count of Arson.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred in October of 2022, when Wheatcroft allegedly set fire to an abandoned industrial building in Champion Township.

Three other suspects are also accused of being involved with one also facing arson charges and the other two faced criminal trespassing charges.

The other three suspects in the incident have not been indicted at this time.
