SALEM, Ohio - The City of Salem will be part of Friday’s National Day of Prayer for a seventeenth year.

Organizers of the Annual National Day of Prayer Observance are inviting members of the public to gather at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State Street at noon on May 4.

This year's theme is "Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much".  A proclamation for the City of Salem will be included, flag presentation and pledge, musical selections, scripture readings, and prayers by clergy and laypersons for government, military, media, business, education, church, safety forces/health, and family.

The event will also be broadcast via the website at praysalem.org and Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts titled Pray Salem and on cable channel 1021 later in the day or evening.
