Firefighters in Bazetta Township spent a portion of Thursday morning rescuing a couple of ducklings from a storm drain.

According to a Facebook post from the fire department, firefighters entered the storm drain and rescued the four ducklings who were trapped inside. 

Bazetta Township Fire Department Public Relations Officer, Rob Wasser tells 21 News the call came in from a home on Bianca Lane with a resident stating that four ducklings fell down a storm drain near his home.

Firefighters say the ducklings were reunited with their mother as soon as they were placed in the grass.

Wasser says what likely happened was the ducklings were following their mother and fell through the cracks of the storm drain while attempting to walk over it.
