Farrell man sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine

FARRELL, Pa. - A Farrell man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in conspiring to distribute crack cocaine.
According to a press release, 31-year-old Eugene Phillips was detained at the Mercer County Jail between March and June of 2021 due to drug trafficking charges.
In April of 2021, Phillips was convicted and sentenced to serve 27 to 54 months in prison. During this time, Phillips continued to traffic crack cocaine from the Mercer County jail.
The FBI, DEA, PA Attorney General's Office, ATF, PSP, Lawrence County Drug Task Force, Mercer County Drug Task Force, New Castle Police Department, Sharon Police Department, Hermitage Police Department and Farrell Police Department all worked together in the investigation.
