A Youngstown man whose arrest video in Farrell caused some anger on social media has pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to deliver drugs and resisting arrest.

Eight other drug and assault charges filed against 27-year-old Aries Shaw were not prosecuted under a plea deal approved this week in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Shaw’s mother and a local pastor in Farrell, expressed outrage after a video circulated online showing a confrontation between Farrell Police and Show during his arrest in January.

Police arrested Shaw for an alleged assault near the intersection of Bond and Hoon Streets in Farrell.

Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker is recommending house arrest of up to two years followed by two years probation when Shaw is sentenced on October 27.
