Lisbon set to host 55th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival

Fall is here, and you know what that means: mornings are getting cooler, laws are being adorned with Halloween decor, and the smell of pumpkin spice and apple cider is in the air.
It's also primetime for some of the valley's most popular festivities, including the 55th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival, set for September 16th and 17th in Lisbon's historic downtown.
Admission is free and the festivities will kick off at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday with an All-you-can-eat firemen's pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall on S. Jefferson Street. From there, there'll be a parade through downtown stepping off at 10:45 a.m., a car show, a baking contest, and more. Saturday's festivities will end at 11:00 p.m.
Sunday will welcome even more fun activities to downtown Lisbon, including a pet show and contest, a duck race, a talent show, a raffle, and several performances by local bands and performers. Everything will wrap up with a performance of the Pure Gold Band from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the main stage, situated at the intersection of South Market St. and State Route 30 in downtown.
Of course, the festival will also be stuffed to the brim with all-day attractions, including a Ferris wheel, inflatable ax throwing, a rock wall, basketball, pinko, yard games, raffles, and more.
The festival grounds are set to host three dozen food vendors and dozens of vendors and organizations for your fall shopping and networking needs.
For more information, including a complete schedule of events and a full list of vendors, you can head to the festival's Facebook page.
