Warren man charged with rape from incident at Niles party

A Warren man has been arrested and charged with rape after an incident that allegedly occurred in late October at a party in Niles.
According to the police report, an 18-year-old woman attended a party on October 20 at a home in the 100 block of West First St. in Niles.
The woman told police that Billy Troy, 30, had asked her age, and asked her if she wanted to make some money, to which she asked what he meant.
The woman told police Troy told her to follow him to the side of a shed. According to the report, the woman told officers that Troy then turned her around against the shed where the alleged rape occurred.
The report also said that someone who walked out of the shed at the party saw the incident and the woman mouthing "help." According to the report, the witness yelled for him to stop, and some people at the party chased after the suspect but could not locate him.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for sexual assault and to collect evidence. A warrant was issued for Troy's attest on Nov. 6.
Troy was arrested by Niles police and charged with rape on November 18. He has a pretrial scheduled in Niles Court on Wednesday.
