It appears Howland is interested in joining the Eastern Buckeye Conference for football only.

Commissioner Jim Carmichael tells 21 Sports, "We made them an offer to join our league for football only." Carmichael said he wasn't sure what year they would join, pending their commitments.

Howland has been part of the All-American Conference for all sports except football.

The Eastern Buckeye Conference consists of Salem, West Branch, Alliance, Carrollton, Marlington & Minerva.

Howland has not made a "formal application" to the conference, and Carmichael says that could be done next week.
