Authorities are on the lookout for one of two men accused of using stolen identities to buy hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards at stores in Boardman and Alliance.

Boardman Police say 22-year-old Wenzhi Chen of Flushing, New York, and 46-year-old Jun Wang used forged identification cards to buy $600 worth of gift cards from a Doral Drive store last November.

Police say that same month, the pair used IDs stolen from three people to buy $1,600 worth of gift cards from a Lowe’s store in Alliance.

The Stark County grand jury indicted both suspects on charges of identity fraud and theft.

Wang pleaded guilty to an amended charge and has been transferred to the Mahoning County Jail where he faces a hearing in Boardman Court next week on charges of theft and receiving stolen property.

Chen, who was indicted by a Mahoning County Grand Jury on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and misuse of a credit card, has failed to appear in court to answer those charges.  A warrant has been issued for Chen’s arrest.
