Raccoon Road closure extended for additional week

The road had been scheduled to open on Friday, March 29. However, officials say they need more time to replace a culvert.

CANFIELD TWP., Ohio - The 9,000 drivers who travel a stretch of Raccoon Road in Canfield will have to take a detour for a few more days than expected.

The Mahoning County Engineer's office has announced that South Raccoon Road will remain closed between Mission Hills and Shields Road beginning through Friday, April 5.

The road closed on Tuesday and had been scheduled to open on Friday, March 29. However, officials say they need more time to replace a culvert.

The posted detour is Shields Road, to Tippecanoe Road, to Lockwood Boulevard, to State Route 224 to S Raccoon Road.
