Several people unharmed when Austintown home was 'riddled with bullets'

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Austintown police are working to find out who riddled a township duplex with gunshots and why.
People living at the side-by-side residence on Kirk Road just west of Meridian Road heard several gunshots early Wednesday.
Police found bullets in the living room, dining room, and kitchen of the home where five people were inside at the time. Bullets also struck an SUV and the attached residence where a couple is living.
The gunfire injured no one.
One resident told police she suspects the shooting was related to threats made to one of her children at school.
A neighbor reported seeing a silver sedan speeding away behind the home at the time the shots were fired.
A neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous spoke to 21 News, he said that in the five years, he's lived in the neighborhood, nothing like this has ever happened.
"I heard gunshots going off, like rounds, open-fire gunshots. At first, I thought it was firecrackers," the neighbor said.
Police said they have some potential suspects as their investigation continues.
