A Warren police officer, placed on administration leave on March 12, has resigned.

Taylor Edwards submitted her resignation on March 30.

Edwards was placed on administrative leave days after her husband and fellow officer, Michael Edwards Jr., was accused of rape.

Taylor Edwards was placed on paid administrative leave following allegations made by prosecutors during Michael's arraignment in March.

Her husband is accused of raping five women, sexual battery, and extortion, all with firearm specifications, as well as multiple counts of theft in office and dereliction of duty.

During her arraignment hearing, Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman alleged that during jail calls between her and her husband, the two had a discussion, which allegedly included comments stating that they hoped the victim died of an overdose or would get run over by a bus or an 18-wheeler.
