Vietnam 'moving wall' memorial set to return to Columbiana County Fairgrounds in September

The Vietnam Moving Wall is set to make its return to the Columbiana County Fairgrounds this September, along with a special to honor those that served in the military.
The moving wall, a half-sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C., is expected to return Sept. 5 through Sept. 9.
However this year, Lisbon, where the fairgrounds are located, is hoping to do something special to commemorate the occasion in the form of a parade.
Sharon Cope, who proposed the parade during a recent Lisbon Council meeting said the parade would honor veterans who were never properly thanked for their service after being discharged from the military.
Council approved the parade but still needs permission from the Lisbon Police Department.
If approved, the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 7. It would go up Market Street to the cemetery.
The wall has been touring the country for more than 40 years between April and November.
