A 16-year-old who went missing after leaving for a church event on Monday has been found safe by her mother.

The child was back Tuesday night.

The Sharon Police Department were notified at 9:43 p.m. of a missing 16-year-old girl who left her home in the city at 5:30 p.m. but failed to return.

21 News spoke with Shanashely Flemming, who said her daughter Alaina Somerset left for church around 5:30 pm, but when she didn't return, she called the church and told her that Alaina wasn't at the meeting on Monday.
