Below is a comprehensive list of summer events throughout the Valley including fairs, festivals, live music and fun for the whole family.

MAY: 

  • First Fridays: These events will take place on the first Friday of each month starting at 4:00 p.m. in different downtown locations offering music, entertainment, networking, food, drinks, shopping, art exhibits and family-oriented activities across Phelps Street. May's event already passed, but other event dates are June 7, July 5, August 2 and September 6. Admission is absolutely free for each event.
  • May 17: Party At the Pool at Buhl Park: This event will take place at 715 Hazen Road in Hermitage and will act as a fundraiser to keep the community pool at Buhl Park up and running at a low cost to families. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and tickets are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of. Tickets can be purchased in advance here. The event will feature live music from Youngstown's Reunion Band and food and drinks from Chick Fil A and Erme's Distributing. You must be 21 years old or older to attend this event.
  • May 18: Plant Swap Fundraiser: This event will take place at Penguin City Brewing in Downtown Youngstown from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring at least six plants with them so they can swap them for six more plants to take home. The more plants you bring, the more you can take. There will also be some plant vendors selling their plants. $5 donations are encouraged with the money going towards Rebel Rescue Ranch.
  • May 19: Bike Belmont: Happening at 1 p.m. at the B&O Station, there will be two route options: a 10 mile ride from downtown to Churchill Giant Eagle, or if you want something a bit more challenging, there is a 22-mile route from Downtown to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. Registration for the event kicks off at 12:30 p.m. You can register in advance here.
  • May 25: Car Show at Heritage Presbyterian Church: Car enthusiasts can come out between noon and 3:00 p.m. to check out plenty of cars, motorcycles, trucks, etc. There will also be a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to put in the Community Blessings Box. These donations will get you tickets to the raffle.
  • May 26: Midwest Holiday Antique Show: This event will take place in the Michael Kusalaba Event Center at the Canfield Fairgrounds starting at 9:00 a.m. The event will feature vintage decorations for numerous holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day and much more. Admission is $10 at the door.
  • May 27: Boardman Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony. 10 am from Boardman Center School on Market Street north to US 224, and then east to Boardman Park
  • May 27: 103rd Annual Canfield Memorial Day Service: 10 am. Veterans Plaza on the North Village Green in Canfield.
  • May 27: Smoky Hollow Memorial Day Service. 11:15 am, corners of Walnut Street and Rayen Avenue in Youngstown.
  • May 30: Cortland Community Concert and Food Truck Night: This event will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on West Main Street in Cortland and will feature live music from the band Speed Limit. If you can't make it out to this one, other concert and food truck nights will be held June 27, July 25, August 22 and September 26.
  • May 31: Mix 98.9 Time Warp Prom: Get ready to take a trip back to the 80s at the Michael Kusalaba Event Center at the Canfield Fairgrounds from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. The event will feature live music from 80s tribute band 80s Proof, a barbecue dinner courtesy of Barrydingles and a cash bar. Tickets are $30 each or $240 for a reserved table for eight. You can purchase tickets here. You must be 21 years old or older to attend this event.

JUNE:

  • June 1: Youngstown Croatian Festival: The event will take place at the Strossmayer Croatian Picnic Grounds in Vienna Township from noon until 8:00 p.m. Entry is $8 cash only, but kids age 12 and under can get in free. There will be live ethnic music performances and dancing, along with Slavic / Croatian food like Lamb on the spit, sarma, haluski, strudel and more. Lamb and pork roasted on a spit are available for pre-orders only. Additionally, there will be a cookie table bake off where the crowd will get to vote on their favorite cookies.
  • June 1, 8: Warren Flea and Farmers Market Annual Garage Sale: This event will take place on both June 1 and June 8 at 428 Main Avenue SW in Downtown Warren between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. both days. You can take anything you're looking to sell and turn it into cash or you can look to purchase used goods from other vendors. Outside set-ups start at $5 and begin as early as 7:00 a.m. All available spaces are first-come first-served.
  • June 1: River Rock at the Amp: June 1 kicks off the Warren Community Amphitheatre's River Rock at the Amp Concert summer series, which lasts until August 31. The season kicks off with AC/DC tribute band Dirty Deeds Xtreme with many other tribute bands playing future dates including tribute bands for Journey, The Eagles, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and much more. Ticket prices range from $10 to $15 depending on the show. Additionally, August 2 will feature a Fight Night at the Amp featuring Youngstown-based professional boxer Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik.   • June 4: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. The Vegas Band
  • June 5-8: Sebring's 93rd Fireman's Festival: This event will take place at the Sebring Fire Station at 235 E. Ohio Avenue and will feature rides, music, a car show, a festival queen crowning and a parade. Tickets for unlimited rides are $16 apiece. 
  • June 6: Music at Mauthe Park: June 6 kicks off Mauthe Park's concert series sponsored by Aqua Ohio with live music coming to the park every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. until August 29. Hot Diggity Dog Eatery will be on site with a food truck. Guests are asked to bring their own lawn chair. The series kicks off with a performance from Elvis & Roy Orbison.
  • June 6-8: Weathersfield Flag Day Festival: This event will take place at 98 Petrol Place and will feature music, rides, games and food. Live music acts include RDNA on June 6 and Old Skool on June 8.
  • June 8: Columbiana Wine Festival: This event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Firestone Farms. Admission is $30 for wine tasting but designated drivers can get in for only $10. The event will feature local music, artisan vendors, food and of course selections from various wineries for guests to taste. Wristbands can be purchased in advance by clicking here.
  • June 8: Simply Slavic Baking Competition: Just one week away from the Simply Slavic Festival, folks can get a little taste of what's in store there at the Simply Slavic Baking Competition at SMARTS located in the Ohio One Building on East Boardman Street in Downtown Youngstown. Bakers can sign up to test their Slavic baking skills and guests are welcome to come out and sample these bakers' works. Admission is free for guests, but there is a non-refundable $5 signup fee for bakers and bakers must submit a description of 75 words or less. The entry form can be accessed here and must be mailed to Simply Slavic Baking Contest at 7050 Market St. #108 Boardman, OH 44512 or dropped off in person at Krakus Polish Deli & Bakery on Market Street in Boardman. The deadline to enter is June 1.
  • June 8: Youngstown Flea. 9am to 3pm. 365 E. Boardman St., vendors and more. 
  • June 8: Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre, Australian Pink Floyd Show. 8:30 pm. Tickets $26.50 to $179 each
  • June 11: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Youngstown Area Community Band Concert
  • June 12: The Voice of Sinatra, noon. Angelo Babbaro sings the songs of Frank sinatra at the Das Dutch Haus Ville Event Center. Tickets are $65 each and include a four-course buffet luncheon. For show tickets, call 866-482-5050 Ext #408 or visit dasdutchvillage.com/theater.
  • June 13: Music in Mauthe Park: 6:00 p.m. Candance Campana
  • June 14-15: Simply Slavic Festival: This two-day event will take place in Downtown Youngstown kicking off at 5:00 p.m. June 14 until 11:00 p.m. and again from 11:45 a.m. until midnight June 15. Admission is $5, but kids 12 and under can get in for free. The event will celebrate the Slavic communities of the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys and will feature Slavic music, food, dancers and much more.
  • June 15: Full Spectrum Pride in the Valley: This event will take place in Courthouse Square in Downtown Warren all day between noon and 10:00 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, a family area, various booths, inflatable attractions, games and of course the pride parade.
  • June 18: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Train Wreck
  • June 20: Music in Mauthe Park: 6:00 p.m. Vintage Vinyl
  • June 20: Penguin City Night Market. 5 pm to 9 pm. 460 E. Federal. Vendors, crafts, food trucks, drinks. 
  • June 20-23: Ribs-N-Rock Fest: This event will take place in the DeBartolo Commons at the Southern Park Mall between Thursday, June 20 and Sunday, June 23. Doors open daily at noon and is free until 3:00 p.m. After that, admission will be $7 per person every day except Saturday, where admission will be $10 per person after 3:00 p.m. The event will consist of multiple vendors competing to see who has the best ribs as well as live rock bands. Headliners will consist of The Clarks on Thursday, Saliva on Friday, Vince Neil of Motley Crue on Saturday and Chris Higbee on Sunday.
  • June 20-22: Cortland Street Fair: This event kicks off June 20 and will feature plenty of fun events from the Little Miss Cortland pageants to various live bands to the 5K and 10K runs and of course the parade. This year's parade theme will be the Wild Wild West. Signups for the runs can be found here and signups for the parade can be found here.
  • June 21-23: Ohio Viking Festival: This event will take place at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Cortland from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on June 21 and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. June 22 and 23. This year's event is focused on crafts. Guests can see how things were made and used in the year 1000 from skinning and tanning to bones and embroidery. Additionally, guests can learn about Norse gods, visit various vendors, enjoy live entertainment and even partake in the Kids Vs. Vikings Water Balloon Battle.
  • June 22: Chalk on the Walk. Free event. Courthouse Square, Warren. Come and let kids show you their inner artist. Free chalk, with music, arts and crafts vendors, free donuts to first 100 kids. 
  • June 22 & 23: Juneteenth Cultural Festival; Wean Park in Youngstown. Vendors, food trucks, and music. Fireworks Sunday night. Free parking at the Covelli Centre.
  • June 24: Youngstown Summer Movie Series: This event kicks off Wean Park's 2024 Summer Movie Series where families can enjoy a movie under the stars every Monday night from June 24 through August 5. The first movie shown will be Trolls: Band Together. A list of movies shown on all other dates can be found here.
  • June 25: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Vintage Vinyl
  • June 28, 29, 30: Rally at Rt. 46. Music and motorcycles. General admission $8 for one day pass; $13 for two days; food vendors and drinks, motorcycle stunt show and more. Details can be found here.
  • June 29: Fire Shaker Works show. Fireworks at dark at Shaker Woods in Columbiana Co. Gates open at 1 p.m., with DJ and food trucks. Rain date is June 30.
  • Autism Awareness Training & Acceptance Program's 1st Annual Craft & Vendor Show and Summer Resource Festival: This event will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald and will consist of over 40 craft vendors, basket and Chinese raffles, food and sensory kit sales. There will also be sensory-friendly games and activities and an informational resource table for those with Autism and other disabilities. 
  • June 30: Austintown Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks: You can celebrate the Fourth of July at this all-day event in the Hollywood Gaming parking lot in Austintown between noon and 10:00 p.m. The event will feature plenty of live music and entertainment, mascot characters, celebrity guests, plenty of kid-friendly activities and of course fireworks. JULY:

  • July 2: The Beach Boys at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre: Classic rock band, The Beach Boys will be making a stop in Downtown Youngstown on their Endless Summer Gold tour. Tickets are on sale now with prices ranging from $34.50 to $122 plus applicable fees. Tickets can be purchased here.
  • July 2: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Canfield Community Band Concert
  • July 4: Ohio Car Show Promoters 4th of July Car, Truck and Bike Supershow. 1 pm to 4 pm 14 E. State Street, Niles. Food vendors, music, more.
  • July 9: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Cin City and the Saints
  • July 9-14: Trumbull County Fair: This longstanding tradition kicks off July 9 at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Cortland. The event will feature a variety of live entertainment at the grandstands, rides, food, vendors and much more. This year's live entertainment consists of Harness Racing from 12:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. July 9. Other live entertainment events are listed for their respective dates. Parking for the fair is free all week.
  • July 10: Julia Neville Concert at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: The show will take place at the grandstands at 7:00 p.m.
  • July 11: Music In Mauthe Park: 6:00 p.m. Speedo Agreedo
  • July 11: Rough Truck & Half Car Races at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: This event will take place at the grandstands at 7:00 p.m. 
  • July 12, 13 & 14: Dave & Ed's Super Swap Meet. Fri-Sat., 8am to 5 pm; Sun. 8 am to 4 p.m at Canfield Fair Grounds. Admission $7 or $10 for weekend pass
  • July 12: Bud Rodgers Memorial Truck & Tractor Pulls at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: This event will take place at the grandstands at 6:30 p.m.
  • July 13: High Steel Rodeo Bulls & Barrels at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: This event will take place at the grandstands at 6:00 p.m.
  • July 14: Frank Worley "Elvis Tribute Show" concert, 6:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road in Vienna. 
  • July 14: Derby Dog Demolition Derby at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: This event will take place at the grandstands at 5:00 p.m.
  • July 14: Fireworks at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds: This event will close off the Trumbull County Fair and will take place at the grandstands at approximately 9:00 p.m.

  • July 25-28: Basilica of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Italian Festival Youngstown: This event will take place at Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Youngstown. The festival will feature a raffle with nightly drawings of $1,000 and a grand prize drawing of $5,000 taking place on July 28. Winners do not need to be present. Additionally, this year's festival will feature rides, a bounce house, face painting, food and much more.
  • July 27-28: Summer Festival of the Arts in Wean Park: This event, hosted by The Cultural Alliance will take place in Wean Park in Downtown Youngstown. The festival will feature all types of art including painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, mixed media artists and much more.
  • July 28: Full House "Oldies with Harmony" 6:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road in Vienna.

AUGUST:

  • August 2-4: Greater Youngstown Italian Festival: This year's festival will run on East Federal Street from Champion Street East to South Avenue due to construction on Federal Street around the square.

  • August 4: Train Wreck "Country" concert, 6:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road in Vienna.

  • August 9: Miss Americanas at Eastwood Field: Fans of Taylor Swift can gather at Eastwood Field August 9 at 7:00 p.m. to see Taylor Swift tribute band Miss Americanas pay tribute to the many eras of the pop superstar's career. Tickets start at $15 each and can be purchased here.
  • August 10: DNA Downtown Car Show 
  • August 10-11; 17-18; 24-25: Shaker Woods Festival. 9 am to 5 pm.
  • August 11: Vintage Vinyl "Classic Rock of the 60's 70's and 80's" concert, 6:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road in Vienna.

  • August 15: Music In Mauthe Park: 6:00 p.m. Jim Baluck

  • August 18: Good Question "Music from all eras and genres" concert, 6:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road in Vienna. 
  • August 18: Papa Dave's Beaters, Beans and Burritos Car Show: If you're a fan of Mexican food and cars, this is the event for you. The event will take place at the El Jalapeno Mexican Restaurant on Youngstown-Warren Road in Niles. Registration can be done on the day of the event and will cost $10. Registation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the event will start at noon. All makes and models are welcome. There will be music, awards, food from El Jalapeno and more. 
  • August 20: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Sweet Sounds by Randy & Jack
  • August 25: Panerathon: Registration for this event is going on right now. This event will raise money for the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center in Youngstown. Participants can either partake in the 2-mile or 10k courses and may register as an individual or as a team. Teams must consist of five people or more.   • August 27: Concerts in Austintown Twp. Park. 7-8:30 pm. Girard Swing Time Band
  • August 28-September 2: The 178th Canfield Fair: A Valley tradition for over a century, folks can spend their Labor Day weekend at the Canfield Fair and enjoy its traditional rides, food games and of course, entertainment. There will be two nights of live music at the Grandstand with country singer Brantley Gilbert taking the stage Sunday, September 1. Details on the entertainment for Monday, September 2 will be released at a later time.
