State grants $16.5M for Valley road, bridge, water and other public works projects

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Public Works Commission has released $16.5 million to fund road, bridge, water, and other infrastructure projects in the Valley’s three counties.
Four of the projects are receiving more than $1 million including the Mahoning Avenue Corridor Upgrade which is getting nearly $1.2 million.
In Trumbull County, $1.8 million is earmarked for improvements to Hubbard Thomas Road and Upper Grove Street in Brookfield. Another $1.3 million will be used to improve Everett Hull, Warren Meadville, Durst Colebrook Roads, and Brookfield Ave. \
More than $1 million is going to Columbiana County for resurfacing projects in East Palestine and Elkrun and Middleton Townships.
The local government projects were selected based on several factors including health and safety, age and condition, and number of users.
