Suspect arrested after deputies chase pickup through Newton Township

One person is behind bars following a high-speed chase through Newton Township and Newton Falls.
Phoenix Albertini has been booked intro the Trumbull County Jail for failure to comply, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, license forfeiture, no tail lights/ plate light, improper display of plates and drug paraphernalia.
The incident happened just after 2 a.m. when a deputy observed it having an obstructed license plate.
As police tried to stop the vehicle, Albertini drove away, leading police along several township roads including Newton Tomlinson, Selkirk Bush, Miller Graber, and Newton Falls Bailey, where the green Dodge truck went into Newton Falls.
With a speed of 90 miles per hour along rural roads, the pursuit went southbound on Route 535 and back into the township.
The chase ended along Carson Salt Springs Road near Route 534 where the driver was arrested.
While investigating the car, officials found methamphetamines, psilocybin mushrooms and several rounds of ammunition and gun clips.
Previously, Albertini plead guilty to charges of aggravated possession of drugs, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon, all felonies.
This means that he would not have been legally allowed to own a gun or ammunition.
Albertini is awaiting a pretrial at the Newton Falls Municipal Court.
