LISBON, Ohio - The Lisbon Blue Devils football team will not take the field Friday after canceling its game, according to Athletic Director Kyle Bing.

The school district posted on Facebook saying the team is dealing with illnesses and has suspended practices for the week.

The school district hopes the extended rest week will help the Blue Devils take the field on September 6 against Waterloo.

Lisbon was scheduled to play an away game against Fairport (Lake County) this week.

The Blue Devils are 0-1 on the season, losing 49-6 against Windham in week one.
