Calcutta Fire Department's K-9 Solace assists in Hurricane Helene search and rescue efforts

The Calcutta Fire Department's search and rescue dog, K-9 Solace, and Fire Chief Dave McCoy have been deployed to Black Mountain, North Carolina, to assist in the ongoing search and rescue efforts following Hurricane Helene.
As part of a joint operation with local and state agencies, K-9 Solace and her team have been searching the devastated areas, covering several miles of land and water. Their efforts have been crucial in locating missing persons and assessing the extent of the damage caused by the hurricane.
The Black Mountain area has experienced significant damage, including widespread power outages, water system disruptions, and infrastructure damage. The local government and emergency services have been working around the clock to provide essential support to affected residents.
