Appeal denied for Girard man convicted of raping two boys

GIRARD, Ohio - The appeal of a Girard man convicted of raping two boys earlier in 2024 has been denied.
Thirty-one-year-old Nicholas Clark was convicted of seven counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition back in March of 2024 for the rapes of two boys aged seven and nine respectively between 2016 and 2021.
Clark was sentenced to life in prison without a chance for parole for his crimes.
Clark appealed this sentence citing two potential errors that the evidence was not strong enough to convict him and a third error stating the court erred by imposing the life sentence on him.
However, the appeals court found these claims to be without merit.
During the trial, the defense tried to convince the jury that the evidence was not strong enough to convict Clark stating that the only evidence shown was the victims testifying it happened with no physical evidence present.
However, the jury was not convinced and found Clark guilty of all charges against him.
Clark will continue to serve his sentence at the Belmont Correctional Institution.
