The Ohio House Homeland Security Committee has passed the House Bill 473 (HB 473), according to an announcement made by State Representative Lauren McNally.
This Bill is primarily focused on installing and maintaining a system of security cameras at each rest stop throughout Ohio that the ODOT has jurisdiction over.
Now that the Bill has passed through the Homeland Security Committee, it now needs to go through a vote by the Ohio House.
If HB 473 is enacted into law, the ODOT will have until 2031 to fulfill the terms.
If HB 473 is not made a law by the end of the year, McNally intends to re-introduce it to the 136th General Assembly.
