The case of a Wellsville man accused of threatening police via videos posted to social media has been bound over to a higher court.

According to court records, the case of 45-year-old Steven Wright has been bound over to the Columbiana County Court of Common Pleas following a Friday morning hearing in the municipal court.

Wright is charged with two counts each of aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment, as well as one count each of obstructing official business and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

The charge stems from videos allegedly posted to Wright's personal Facebook page where he allegedly threatens to "have a shootout" with Wellsville police officers, as well as Columbiana County Sheriff's Office deputies if a warrant is issued for his arrest.

Two days after those videos were allegedly posted, a search warrant was conducted on the 800 Block of Main Street where Wright was in his car according to police.

Police say this led to a near hour-long standoff before Wright got out of the car where police allegedly found a loaded gun in the vehicle.

The case will now go before a grand jury.
