A Wellsville man is facing several charges after police say he posted videos on social media where he threatens police officers.

According to a police report, officers were alerted to the videos on February 18, which were allegedly posted by 45-year-old Steven Wright to his personal Facebook account.

Police say the alleged videos show Wright sitting in his car calling officers with the Wellsville Police Department "corrupt pieces of s**t" and saying he will "have a shootout with the cops" if a warrant is issued for his arrest.

Wright then allegedly goes on to say if Wellsville officers call the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office, he will "have a shootout" with them instead.

The report further provides this alleged quote from Wright in the alleged video.

"See, what's going to happen is I'm going to pull down there after they issue the warrant, right. I'll pull down to the Wellsville police station, I'll pull around back and I'll call them and let them know I'm out back and not one of those cops will come out and try to issue that warrant, because they know what is going to happen."

Two days after being alerted to the alleged videos, Wellsville police, as well as the Columbiana County SWAT Team conducted a search warrant on the 800 Block of Main Street where Wright was in his car according to the report.

Police say they asked Wright to come out of the vehicle several times, but he refused to do so and allegedly told officers he would retaliate in self defense if they tried to force entry into the vehicle.

According to the report, this led to a standoff that lasted about an hour before Wright exited the vehicle. Police found a loaded gun inside the vehicle.

Court records show Wright is charged with two counts each of aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment, as well as one count each of obstructing official business and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

He was arraigned on Friday, February 21 where he pled not guilty to those charges. He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing February 28.
