Habitat for Humanity accepting homeownership applications; two new homes being built in the Valley

Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley is accepting new applications for its ownership program, including two new homes being built this year.
The new homes being built will be located in Warren and Lordstown with plans to build another one in Boardman throughout 2026.
"We are excited to grow homeownership across the Valley, continuing to strengthen neighborhoods through housing," said Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley Family Services Coordinator, Beth Valerio.
To meet the requirements to apply, those interested must have the ability to pay a monthly mortgage along with partnering with Habitat through attending homeownership education courses and sweat equity hours which takes 1-2 years.
"This isn't a free home – it is a hand-up, with a partnership and an affordable mortgage," said Executive Director, David Redig. "We are excited to be working in Trumbull County and increase local homeownership in our Valley."
Any questions about the process should go to Beth Valerio at the number here.
