Man says he was tased, pepper-sprayed, robbed at Austintown laundromat

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - A woman who police say is homeless has been arrested in connection with a robbery at an Austintown laundromat, where a man was sprayed with mace and tased, according to police.
Cara R. Schueler, 31, was arrested and charged with robbery, Austintown police said.
According to a police report, officers responded to a call Tuesday evening about a man being sprayed with mace at a convenience store, located near a laundromat on New Road.
The victim told police that Schueler, an acquaintance, approached him outside the laundromat, stated she was going to "f--k him up," and took his fanny pack containing about $4, gaming headphones, and temporary tattoos. Frederick said he followed her into the laundromat, where she sprayed him with mace and tased him.
Police say they could see redness on Frederick's face and taser probe marks on his stomach. Frederick was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Security footage from the store showed a person matching Schueler's description taking an item from Frederick, according to police.
Schueler was arrested Wednesday after officers located her Toyota RAV4 at a storage facility on South Raccoon Road.
Officers say Schueler admitted to discarding the fanny pack, which was later recovered by police at a nearby furniture rental business. Inside the fanny pack were the victim's headphones and other items. Police also recovered a pink taser from Schueler's vehicle.
Schueler is being held at the Mahoning County Justice Center. She is scheduled for video arraignment Monday.
Court records indicate Schueler also has a pending criminal trespass case from April 16.
