After a gloomy and chilly Wednesday across the Valley, we do expect a more pleasant day to unfold on Thursday. The day could start with patchy fog, but it will be partly sunny overall. The forecast includes a small chance of a passing shower during the afternoon hours.

An area of low pressure is set to scoot by just to our south on Friday. A rainy day is likely in areas closer to Interstate 70, but the forecast is trickier in our part of Ohio and Pennsylvania. The best chance of light rain will be in our southern areas, but some damp weather cannot be ruled out in northern locales at this point. The entire region has a good chance for rain showers later Friday night into early Saturday as a cold front pushes southward.

The air mass that settles overhead in the wake of the front will be quite cool for the end of May and the start of June. That said, Saturday afternoon and Sunday will be pleasant enough with a good deal of sunshine.

Warmer weather is expected to be accompanied by plenty of sunshine during the first half of next week.
