JEEFRSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Authorities have identified the four Amish men arrested Saturday for allegedly going into the home of another Amish man and cutting his hair and beard with scissors.
A Jefferson County deputy says authorities arrested 38-year-old Johnny Mullet, 26-year-old Lester Mullet, 53-year-old Levi Miller, and Lester Miller (no age given).
They four are facing charges in connection with an attack on a 74-year-old man in his home Tuesday night in Holmes County.
Cutting an Amish man's beard, or an Amish woman's hair, is regarded degrading and a religious violation.
Similar acts have been reported in three nearby counties.
