Apparent heroin overdoses continue to rise in Trumbull County

The number of suspected heroin overdoses in Trumbull County is growing, bringing the total number to at least nine since Thursday.
Warren Township police say two people were taken to the hospital Friday night for overdoses. Narcan kits were used to revive them.
Police say they found remnants of the drug with one of the victims, which appeared to have a similar white substance also found by Warren police among the several overdose cases since Thursday.
"We did find one of the needles with some of the heroin still in it, it appeared to be that white color that everyone's looking for, so we're going to send it to the lab and get it tested," Chief Don Bishop said, Warren Township police.
Warren police say two people died from apparent heroin overdoses Thursday and five people overdoses and were revived with Narcan kits.
A common tie between those overdoses, was that the heroin was pure white in color.
