An Asian-American style restaurant chain with locations all around the world says it plans to open its first Valley restaurant this weekend.

The Panda Express at South Avenue and Windham Court in Boardman officially begins serving customers on Saturday.

The chain, which boasts 1,900 locations around the world, describes its menu as American Chinese, which includes dishes such as orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and shanghai angus steak.

The company says that when it considers new locations such as Boardman, they look for areas that have a good population and have a regional retail draw.

According to a news release from the chain, they also consider the number of office and industrial workers in the area.

Panda Express says it will donate 20 percent of grand opening day proceeds to Making Kids Count Northeast Ohio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the most vulnerable children within the area.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight.
