A Youngstown woman is in jail after police say a  video shows her punching a two-year-old boy in the eye.

Zipporah Thompson, 27, was booked into the county jail Sunday on a child endangering charge after the father of two children, ages 2 and 1, called the police to report that she threatened to kill the children and punched one of them in the face.

Police say the father had a video showing Thompson saying “Your father don't want y'all and don't care about yall.”

According to a police report, Thompson said on the video “I'll punch you in the face. Do you want me to punch you in the face?”

Police say Thompson turned the camera around and punched the two-year-old in the face, at which point he began to cry.

The father let officers listen on speaker phone as Thompson called him.

Here is part of the conversation that police witnessed according to the report:

THOMPSON: “Just come get these damn kids before I abandon them.”

FATHER: “You told me you were going to kill my kids.”

THOMPSON: Yes I am if you don't come get them.”

An officer then reported hearing banging noises over the phone “similar to someone hitting something,” followed by the sound of a child crying.

Police surrounded a home on Thalia Avenue where they believed the children were with Thompson.

No one answered the door, but a Jeep pulled into the driveway and Thompson got out.

An officer began to put Thompson in handcuffs, he says she repeatedly banged her head on the police cruiser “trying to blame me for doing so,” according to the report.

Police also say Thompson continued to bang her head once she was placed inside the cruiser.

An ambulance crew examined the two children and said neither of them was seriously injured.
