YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Warren man now faces charges in relation to the death of his four-month-old infant daughter earlier this month.

Twenty-four-year-old Christian Sumpter is now facing one charge of aggravated murder, two charges of murder, and one count of child endangering, after being indicted by a Mahoning County Grand Jury.

Investigators were called out on Sunday, September 2nd to a home on N. Roanoke Avenue where they found the infant still conscious and breathing.

According to dispatchers, the 911 caller reported that the infant had fallen and hit her head.

When first responders arrived, police were called to the home due to the possibility that the baby was dropped on purpose.

The infant was taken to Akron Children's Hospital in Boardman, then flown by medical helicopter to the main Akron Children's Hospital in Akron where she was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday, the Summit County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

Investigators have not yet released details as to how the infant died.

Sumpter is already in the Mahoning County Jail facing unrelated charges.

Sumpter has been arrested twice since the child's death. Both times on unrelated charges- the first on the day of the child's death (on an arrest warrant), and the second on charges of felonious assault in relation to an alleged argument with another man.
