YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus guided a big blue bus to Youngstown Tuesday night as part of the Power of the Black Vote tour.

They met with business leaders, the faith community and others at New Bethel Baptist Church to make sure they're informed on the issues, and how their democratic candidates would best represent them.

While it's a continuation of the grassroots effort that got Barack Obama elected 10 years ago, organizers and volunteers say Democrats need to do more to engage black and minority voters.

"They still ignore communities of color largely even though black women are the largest voting block of the Democratic Party," said Shienne Williams. "They wait to reach out to us until the last minute."

The Power of the Black Vote tour heads to Warren on Wednesday, then to Akron, Canton and Cleveland later in the week.
