Voters considering tax renewals in a couple of Mahoning County school districts had no qualms about voting "Yes."
Seventy-nine percent of those casting votes in Tuesday's primary in the Campbell School District voted in favor of renewing a 16.3 mill levy.
In the Springfield Local School district, voters overwhelmingly approved renewal of a 1% income tax for current expenses.
Trumbull County
There were plenty of school issues throughout Trumbull County. Three of those issues failed, and one is too close to call.
The 5.6 mill renewal tax sought by the Niles City Schools lost by a three-and-a-half percent vote margin.
Also failing was a request for another 1.9 mills in the Brookfield Local Schools and 1.75% income tax in the Newton Falls Exempted Village School District.
The 4.3 mill renewal sought by McDonald Schools is too close to call. Unofficial results show 243 votes "for" the issue, 242 "against."
Voters renewed school levies in Bloomfield, Bristol, Liberty, Mathews, Southington, and Weathersfield districts.
Columbiana County
Voters in the West Branch School District were not in the mood to approve a half percent income tax. The measure was defeated by a vote of 1,274 to 1,659.
Crestview voters felt more generous, approving a 2.34 mill construction bond combined with a half mill permanent improvements levy.
The Beaver Local Schools emergency renewal was also passed by voters.
