AUSTINTOWN - The trial of a corrections officer who was shot by police in Austintown in December of 2025 will proceed as scheduled.

An employee at Judge R. Scott Krichbaum's court tells 21 News the trial of 33-year-old Jacob Hall, pictured above, will begin on Monday, March 9 as scheduled.

Hall is charged with a felony count of improper discharge of a firearm into a habitation, as well as two misdemeanor counts of aggravated menacing.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on North Yorkshire Boulevard in December of 2025. Police say Hall was making homicidal and suicidal threats.

Hall's spouse previously told 21 News that he has a history with mental health struggles, and that he intended "to harm himself or have the cops harm him." She went on to say he did not intend to hurt anyone but himself.
