Power slowly being restored to residents, businesses

Power will likely be restored for most Mahoning and Columbiana counties First Energy customers by 11 p.m. Sunday March 15, according to the First Energy Outages site. Most of Trumbull, Mercer and Lawrence counties, however, may not see power fully restored until 11 p.m. Monday, March 16.
As of 5:45 p.m., more than 6,000 residents and businesses across the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys are without power, as crews work to restore service.
The largest chunk of those outages remains within Mercer and Columbiana counties. First Energy is reporting 1,348 customer outages in Mercer County; Columbiana County is experiencing 3,367 power outages, with 534 of those being First Energy customers and 2,467 being AEP Ohio customers.
In Mahoning County, 276 are still experiencing outages. Trumbull County has dropped to 860 without power, and Lawrence County has dropped to 613 as crews worked through the day to restore power.
Strong winds disrupted power, blew down tree limbs and damaged several homes Friday evening, leaving thousands without power through the night and into Saturday.
