BUTNER, North Carolina-A former Howland man reports to a North Carolina prison after being sentenced for defrauding millions of dollars from hundreds of investors.
61 year old David Harriet was sentenced to five and a half years in a federal medical facility after being covicted of stealing nearly ten million dollars in a Ponzi scheme.
Harriet suffers from pancreatic cancer. The judge allowed him to travel to Arizona for the holidays before reporting to prison.
He was also ordered to pay seven million dollars in restitution to former clients
