Seven Springs ski resort in SW Pa. sets opening
CHAMPION, Pa. (AP) - Seven Springs Mountain Resort in southwestern Pennsylvania says it will open for ski season on Friday.
The resort about 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, also offers snow tubing and snowboarding.
The resort has been making snow since Dec. 7 and reports a base of 18 to 30 inches. At least eight slopes will be open for skiers and snowboarders.
Seven Springs offers daily and season passes and participates in a swap program with three other resorts in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. That means season pass holders can ski at the other resorts, and those with passes to the other resorts can ski at Seven Springs.
The other resorts are Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia, Wisp Resort in Maryland, and Hidden Valley Resort in Pennsylvania.
