McDONALD, Ohio - The U.S. Geological Service says that a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was centered on Division Street in Youngstown.

The quake was felt throughout Northeast Ohio.  Callers to our newsroom are reporting cracked foundations, walls and some roads.  But  no injuries have been reported.

It's the eleventh earthquake in the Valley over the past year and the strongest yet.  The  last earthquake reported was a magnitude two one week ago.  It was centered a mile away from a controversial well used to dispose of waste from gas well drilling.

On Friday, the operator of that well agreed to shut it down for testing in hopes of proving that the injection process is not causing the quakes.

There are other brine injection wells in the Valley.  State Representative Bob Hagan is calling for a moratorium on drilling for shale gas.

State Representative Sean O'Brien says Governor Kasich is having a conference call with ODNR to discuss a possible moratorium.
