UPDATE: Judge to consider release of 14-year-old Jordan Brown

NEW CASTLE, Pennsylvania - The Lawrence County judge in the juvenile trial of Jordan Brown is expected to make a decision in the coming days whether or not to release the now 14-year-old while he awaits trial.
Brown is accused of killing his father's fiancé, Kenzie Houk, and her unborn child back in February of 2009.
Brown's attorneys argue his right to a speedy trial has been violated because as a juvenile he should have either been released or tried by now.
They're asking the judge to release him immediately into his father's custody until his trial.
"He's just not getting the counseling and the treatment that he really needs given the nature of what's been going on here for the last three years with all of this. And he's at a critical point in his life and he's just missing out on a great deal. So we're hopeful that he's released," said Brown's attorney Steve Colafella.
The judge is expected to make a decision this week.
Brown's attorney expects the trial will be held within the next 30 days.
