AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - It may sound strange that an Austintown man says it was no big surprise when he found a motorcycle buried in a flower bed next to his front porch on South Turner Road.
Richard Smith says he had heard that the previous owners had buried their son's motorcycle after he was killed in an accident on the bike in 1961.
"Because we had heard the rumors when we moved in that they thought they buried their son's motorcycle but nobody was really sure obviously they did it's still here," says Smith.
Smith made the discovery while digging to replace his front steps.
He says he would like to see the German-made Zundapp cycle rebuilt, but if that's not possible he will probably bury it someone else on the property.
