Northside Hospital nurses voting on contract

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Nearly 400 nurses from Northside Hospital were voting Wednesday on a proposed labor agreement after working for the past year and a half without a contract.
As they have in the past, members of the Younstown General Duty Nurses Associatioon are gathering at the Teamster Hall in Youngstown, casting votes during three separate sessions between shifts.
Terms of the contract proposal have not been released.
The nurses have rejected previous contract offers.
In the past, the union has said that staffing levels and input by nurses regarding patient care have been some of the major bargaining issues. Hospital operators have denied that any contract proposals would prevent nurses from advocating for patients.
The nurses' association held a one-day strike in September that resulted in a selective lock-out of some nurses.
